(or was that virginia tech?)

That was Va Tech in the 70's...and I think we had something ridiculous like 700 yards rushing

I was at the 1974 game. As I remember, Florida State had been winless in the last dozen or so games, and Bama may have been undefeated at the time. Late in the 4th quarter, Florida State was up 7-3. Bama pinned FSU near their own goal line, and FSU decided to take a safety on a punt, making it 7-5. FSu punted, Alabama had a decent return, and then worked in to field goal position with only a few seconds left. Bama kicked the field goal and won 8-7.

Sat, Oct 12 Florida State Tuscaloosa 8 - 7 (W)

Darryl Mudra was Coach of the Seminoles in '74 when Bama won 8-7 in Denny Stadium. Bucky Berry kicked the game winning FG. Bama was undefeated and ranked #1, FSU had not won a game and (if there was such a thing) was ranked last.....

We won 8-7 in 1974. Darrell Mudra was the coach at FSU. We hit a late field goal to win it. FSU was horrible at the time. It would have been an enormous upset.

We won 8-7. Daryl Mudra was the FSU coach. It was right before Bobby came to FSU.

Sorry Tide 61. Should have checked before I posted.

A friend from Tallahassee told me the headline in the paper the next day was "Seminoles Snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory". I think Burt Reynolds was in TTown for the game.
