I admit that last year, after the Iron Bowl, I didn't want to see, hear from, or speak to another Alabama fan for a long, long time. Why? Alabama fans are awful - to each other. Another Alabama fan actually told me and my husband that he hoped we died in a fiery car crash on the way home from the game - and all because I made the statement that it was a good game, even though I hated losing. And that's just sad. The fans were one of the reasons I fell in love with Alabama football at an early age. When fans start attacking each other, both verbally on message boards and physically in the stands, the whole package suffers. Fans are an important part of any football program, whether we like it or not. And fan behavior affects everyone, from other fans all the way to the team. The issue of Class starts at home. Treat your own with respect, and it builds from there. Until we can do that, the situation won't improve much.

"Treat your own with respect...". I agree, it starts right there. Unfortunately, there are some people to whom it's not enough just to be a Bama fan. You have to be theirkind of Bama fan, either a "true Bama fan", or a "classy Bama fan", or a "non-Jorts wearing Bama fan", or an "alumni Bama fan". If you look hard enough, everyone will piss you off, and if you don't allow your friends to have at least one fault, you won't have many friends.

Incivility...another symptom of a much more serious problem that began in the 60’s, incubated in the 70’s...and festered unchallenged since. If it feels good do it...to hell with propriety, courtesy, and respect. If we want to do more than pay lip service to solution of this garbage it’s up to US to challenge this secular crap.... everywhere and anywhere. A great start is at our games.....call ‘em out. ROLL ON TIDE!

The stupidest are ALWAYS the loudest. Paul Finebaum's career is proof of that. Would he even have a radio show without the idiots that call in constantly and state their learned opinion?? We didn't corner the market on these fools to be sure, but we have our fair share, and darned if they aren't some of the loudest, most vocal bozos in the biz.

We are in fine shape, just a little thin is our only real problem. We still have a ways to go before things are back to what Alabama football is all about.

It's good to see these guys playing their hearts out and I suspect as long as cns is our coach, you can expect to see this kind of attitude, and it only gets better from here on out.

Roll Tide!

Roll Tide!

If you're gonna go, go all the way, if you're gonna stay, stand your ground, if you can't run with the big dogs, big dog let me walk you out, if you can't lead let me by you, if you won't follow get out of the way, you're taking up space. "Van Zant"

This was very good post and I agree. Lets all come together as a whole and pull for our wonderful University and show the rest of the fans an example of class and dignity. Roll Tide

Here’s what we’ve got: (A Very Bright Future)
• We’re off probation!
• The best football coach in the country (THIS IS HIS FIRST YEAR PEOPLE!)
• Perhaps the best coaching staff in the country (THIS IS THEIR FIRST YEAR PEOPLE!)
• The best recruiting class I’ve ever seen here is underway (LET’S LET THEM GET HERE!)
• A team that’s been through hell throughout the years but obviously believes in something because they won’t quit -- KNOWING they weren’t supposed to be “great” this year (AS ANYBODY WHO UNDERSTANDS THE GAME OF FOOTBALL HAS SAID OVER & OVER)
• Were going to complete our stadium expansion!

• Nick Saban is the Messiah!!! I’m gonna wear “Got Saban” t-shirts everyday!, I’m gonna compare Saban to Coach Bryant everyday!, I’m gonna name my newborn “Saban” – AND I’LL DO ALL THIS BEFORE HE COACHES ONE FREEKEN GAME FOR ALABAMA!!!!
• Even though my coach is the new Messiah, I will still tell people what he does wrong and what I would have done…. Hell, I’ll just give him, or someone with the program, a call at his home!!! And let him know how I feel besides I played high-school football -- I know freaken everything!
• Our coaching genius better go 9-0 this year. I expect to win the National Championship next year… I don’t know how, I just do.
• In front of a national audience, I’m gonna boo our new savior & team when he makes a decision I can’t comprehend because I’m simply a classless idiot!
• I’m gonna pay a lot of money for some tickets, talk sh*t all day about how my team is the best and how they don’t quit… Nevertheless, I’ll leave the game early because I don’t think they can pull out the win. (At least I’m not a quitter)
• I love to wear jorts, giant white tennis shoes, a hounds-tooth hat and a jearsy that’s 5 times too big on me that says Saban on the back. My kid will be wearing the VERY same thing --- (that looks cool you know.)
• I’m going to through a cup bourbon at a visiting team, that played better than my team, because I am either trying to impress my intoxicated girlfriend or because I’m pissed that I ran out of substance, which I buy with my daddy’s money.
• I’m going too hold up a giant picture of MYSELF, of all things, at gameday!!!! By the way I’m ugly as p*ss and have a partial mullet (couldn’t quit cold turkey – Roll Tide Buddy!)
• I’m gonna call Paul Finebaum and show the world that I can sound just as stupid as those Tennessee fans who can’t make it to their game because the creek is up. (By the way, who was the mountain looking kid with a fiddle on Game Day??? Where the hell did he come from???)

This is an accurate post. It would be funny if it weren't true. Coach Saban is going to get fed up with this kind of behavior - more fed up than he already is, I should probably say - and depart sooner than anyone now expects if people don't wise up about the need to lose a few games on the way to winning consistently.
