I admit that last year, after the Iron Bowl, I didn't want to see, hear from, or speak to another Alabama fan for a long, long time. Why? Alabama fans are awful - to each other. And that's just sad. The fans were one of the reasons I fell in love with Alabama football at an early age. When fans start attacking each other, both verbally on message boards and physically in the stands, the whole package suffers. Fans are an important part of any football program, whether we like it or not. And fan behavior affects everyone, from other fans all the way to the team. The issue of Class starts at home. Treat your own with respect, and it builds from there. Until we can do that, the situation won't improve much.

"Treat your own with respect...". I agree, it starts right there. Unfortunately, there are some people to whom it's not enough just to be a Bama fan. You have to be theirkind of Bama fan, either a "true Bama fan", or a "classy Bama fan", or a "non-Jorts wearing Bama fan", or an "alumni Bama fan". If you look hard enough, everyone will piss you off, and if you don't allow your friends to have at least one fault, you won't have many friends.
