“I saw Coach [Mark] Richt there at the game,” Washington said. “My friends who were at the game said he was texting the whole game and had [scouting] stuff written up on his arm. People are starting to think about us.”

I'm sure he was. He's not the knight in shining armor that everyone on here thinks he is.

Why is this such a big deal? Scouting has been a part of football since they started playing it. Plus, his kid plays for them.

If you aren't familiarizing yourself with what your upcoming opponents are doing, you are getting your teeth kicked in a lot.

What does that have to do with anything donkey? His son is one of Clemson's backup qb's. Of course he's going to be at the game. We do play them this year, so if he see's something don't you think he's going to use it?

I just don't like all this "classy" talk, and all this "honor among coaches" crap on here.

I don't like Richt either, but nobody said anything about him being classy in this thread.

I don't see a problem with Richt seeing his son's team and getting to scout the game while doing it. If Richt weren't there, Georgia would have had another coach/scout there instead. We just wouldn't have known who it was.

I like Richt but I'm not worried. I mean he could sit at home and watch the game or tape it and watch it a million times. Won't change the outcome of the game when we play them I don't think.

Funny, his son had no chance of playing in the game and since Clemson is just as close to Athens than Atlanta I wonder how many other games he plans on attending. I get tired of the Richt is a saint bs.

That seems odd to me. Couldn't he just watch the tape when he got home? Maybe he's memorizing hand signals.

Mark Richt is a class act. There is absolutely nothing unethical about him being at the game, or making notes while scouting. I don't understand all the hassle about this. P.S.- I hope we beat the Dogs between the hedges.

Sounds like he was doing his job and supporting his kids' team. You should expect no less.

It's bloody ridiculous that anyone would have a problem with CMR being at that game and then slamming his character to boot. Heck, if I was him, I'd have been there too. That has nothing to do with character or class, and don't think CNS wouldn't do the same thing under the circumstances. BTW, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Richt, but I still hope we smoke 'em by 24 in Athens.
