America. The nation of the offended. It won't be long before we're France.

I would like to point out that these two gentlemen ALSO started out as Chancellors.
I encourage the students at Ole Miss to rise up and put this tool in his place. How about a chant of "Go to H3ll, Chancellor, Go to H311?" "If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn't plan it properly." -- General Nick Lappos |

The machine will not be happy until they make it a hate crime to mention the South in a favorble light when talking about the war between the states.
Mississippi should change their whole identity. Thats what they are trying to do anyway. I promise you when Mississippi founded the school and chose that song and mascot, it wasn't a mistake. They did it on purpose and wanted those words in that song. The same way Georgia wanted a small rebel flag in their state flag. Can we not have some heritage symbols to remember our history or will political correctness rule our lives down to the point that is is reverse discimination. |

I'm just amazed that Ole Miss has a fight song. Why?

So you admit to wanting the Alabama fight song changed (or abolished)?:
Yes or no? |

In that case it is an isolated geographic reference. There is a Tide in the affairs of men, Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; Omitted, all the voyage of their life, Is bound in shallows and in miseries. --William Shakespeare, "Julius Caesar", Act 4 scene 3 --Alabama Fan since 1585 ![]() |

I have a feeling this will be like arguing with the wall, but I fail to see the correlation between referring to a region of America and saying "The South Will Rise Again". _____________________________________________________________________________________ PM Me about Army Reserve Career Opportunities and how you may qualify for up to 20K in bonuses! |

Yeah, some kinda of contest with a fire hose. God Bless America! What other country in the world is as tolerant as the USA of the continual praise and adoration of an violent insurrection? BTW, Ole Miss stinks. We beat 'em a while back. Bring on LSU.

OK...let me get this straight.. You associate the word ('South' in this case) inside the phrase "the South will rise" again as tangibly, racially offensive.. But yet you associate the word ('Dixie' in the other case) inside the phrase "you're Dixie's football pride" as NOT being tangibly, racially offensive because it's more descriptive of a geographic area than the terms commonly associated with geographic areas of the United States (such as West, South, North, Northeast, etc.).. OK...now that we've established that, then what other descriptive names do you have on your list instead that can be substituted as better adjectives to use to describe these commonly-used geographic descriptions? For instance, what else would you call the West (besides 'the West', of course)?.. The East?.. The North?.. |

Where is your link to a Gallup poll that backs this statement up? I AM THE SENATE! |

Technically, I started out as the senior Galactic Senator from the planet Naboo, and was later "voted" on as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic. I AM THE SENATE! |

Also (from Wikipedia):
Shouldn't the name of Manhattan Island be changed to something else then (since Manhattan Island has an obvious association with slavery itself or the institution of slavery)? |
