I heard an interesting rumor last night and I'm not billing it as anything but a rumor.
A friend of mine's dad works in construction and he says he was asked to go take a look at Neyland stadium a couple months back. Apparently, the stadium was built out of actual stone masonry instead of concrete. The stadium was also designed to cant in at a slight angle so that the sound would be directed inward towards the field, making the stadium louder. From what he said, masonry doesn't do well at an angle, and the stadium has picked up about another 6 degrees. Supposedly they're going to have to do some major renovations just to keep the place from falling in on itself. Of course, after taking a look at the stadium, the guy refused the job and told every Bama fan he knew.
Does anybody know anything about the way Neyland was build or how masonry works that might be able to shed some light on this? I was just curious if there was any truth to this rumor. If it has any truth to it whatsoever, I just love how Karma works...

Actually, the extra lean is from the massive storage of Krispy Kreme products being stored in the upper deck. The Great Pumpkin didn't want them to be discovered. After every game, he has the Tn State Troopers escort him to the upper deck for a few hours. Then he goes to the locker room to brief the viles on their game.

Actually, I was thinking that it couldn't have helped them when they did their "renovation" in which they moved all the seats together to add capacity.
I mean, I'm not an engineer, but shouldn't you add supports when you're adding weight?

If I am remembering correctly, they did their entire stadium expansion in about 1 year.I remember the media were blasting Alabama when doing the East side expansion because it was a smaller job that was taking twice as long, and costing more to do it...
