Historically, Alabama has been mentioned in dozens of old songs--"Alabamy Bound", "Bonnie Blue Flag", "Alabama Jubilee", etc. Most notibly, Alabama was mentioned in the very first talking movie ever made. In that movie, "The Jazz Singer", Al Jolson sang "Mammy", Which contained the phrase "--my heart strings are tangled around Alabamy", which was repeated several times. The year was 1927.
