I am not sure how many players we signed back in February in that much-ballyhooed class we got. Can someone tell me how many and how many actually reported in? I know we lost a couple to baseball and perhaps some to academics.

We signed 32.
2 enrolled early and by the time fall practice starts, there should be 25 more (many have already enrolled for the summer).
That makes 27. I think we're going to have one more on the Bryant scholarship.


We may need one to greyshirt if we can't get the number of upperclassmen on scholarship down to 60.

We signed 32. 2 counted toward last years class because they were January enrollers and they practiced with the team in the Spring. (WR Chris Jackson and the Kicker). 2 were lost to the baseball draft (WR's Hood and Ray). 1 prep school resign may do another year at prep school or go Juco (DT Kerry Murphy-unknown status at this time). I believe another one or two didn't qualify and are going to JUCO (Athlete Devonta Bolton and I think the other was a DE). That leaves right around 25 more signees who will suit up for fall practice. All of them should fit within the overall 85 limit. One may have to greyshirt, but probably not. It's amazing how everyone obsessed over the numbers and now it has worked out just fine.
