I know it was going around a few months ago but does anybody know for sure if there will be beer served at the Bama game in Jax since it's not a conference game and not a home game for either the SEC or ACC?

Beer isn't sold there during the UGA/UF game. Even if it is sold it will be too expensive.

It isn't sold at UF/UGA because this is an SEC game and are under SEC rules. UA and FSU obviously are not.

Not sure, but if so, it will give extra ammo to some of our fans. God help the referees if a questionable call is made...

surely they would not do that. Did you see all the posts on here about people drinking at games. They are the worst people on earth. Drinkers = sinners.

Beer isn't sold at NCAA sponsored events.

Wouldn't mind having a cold beer during the game. That's one of the things I love about Bowl Games.

Aren't Bowl Games NCAA sponsored events? They sell beer at those.

I thought that too, but those have the corporate sponsorships. I always thought that was the difference.

Apparently, the NCAA makes an exception for bowl games. They don't encourage it, but leave it up to the individual bowl.

Not entirely true, any 21 year old individual may buy beer at any Tulane home football game. I don't know the details, but I am guessing it has to do with them using the Superdome.

Does anybody have any definite word from officials in Jax or is everybody just guessing like me?
